mandatory and use of the faulty product will still end in bankruptcy (it is designed to discourage use via punitive co-pays and is very expensive and financially crippling to use by design), or in the case of a skilled chemist it could result in... well there are some fictional theories.

I am not a chemist or I would have used my skills when my well insured wife and I had to leverage everything to keep up with the punitive co-pays, I was stubborn and got her treatment to the end, the insurance company retaliated by making damn sure we spent all our savings and used all our credit leaving us with nothing but huge debt in the end.

They were even kind enough to stall a life saving surgery for several months, just enough time coincidentally for the cancer to metastasize and remove a debit issue from their books. She helpfully died for them releasing them of the need to find ways not to pay or "gasp" actually have to pay for some more procedures.

These murderous vultures have been given complete control, God have mercy on our souls, because our bodies and bankruptcies belong to the insurance mob.
