One Out Of Every Ten Wall Street Employees Is A Psychopath

"A financial psychopath can present as a perfect well-rounded job candidate, CEO, manager, co-worker, and team member because their destructive characteristics are practically invisible," writes DeCovny, who pulls together research from several psychologists for her story, which helpfully suggests that financial firms carefully screen out extreme psychopaths in hiring. . .

This is hardly the first time that mental illness has been equated with a certain capacity for professional success -- especially in the financial sector, where some stock traders have actually scored higher than diagnosed psychopaths on tests that measure competitiveness and attraction to risk."

Didn't think we needed a study to find this out but . . .

This is not to say that all wealthy people are psychopaths. I'm talking about the ones who brag about being in the 1-2%.

That those who make a point of saying they are part of "the elite," and use it to degrade people for their own egos, are psychopaths. Unlike those who use their wealth and influence for good works and to uplift people.

out there.

It's based on nothing. Psychopathy isn't even a psychiatric diagnosis.

95% of people who quote this will look ridiculous (yes, I just made that up).

... I'm not at all surprised. For a CEO to be able to make financial decisions based on self-interest (or stock prices) and still sleep at night because you just don't think about the people whose lives are affected, it would be helpful to have psychopathic tendencies. I don't know enough about what stockbrokers do to say the same about them, since I assume they can't actually influence events, but for them, maybe it's the rush and the adrenaline.
