6. The gunman's brother is on CNN saying Obama should not have called

her - he could have been focusing more on what can be done to prevent things like this - the mental health issue.

That's bullshit - the President can do both - that lady is a hero

7. The gunman's brother should be calling with a thank you as well

to Ms. Tuff. She likely saved his brother's life (not to mention how many other lives if he had started shooting in earnest). She's a huge hero and I'm glad the president called her.

the police officers who he intended to harm. I hope he also talks to her and the 911 crisis woman.

...it's none of his f*cking business who the President chooses to call anyway. Anyone who was that heroic, whatever the circumstances, deserves a call from our President, and GOOD on Obama for calling her!

27. And why didn't this asshole brother focus more

On his deranged brother. And if he wants to talk about mental health, he needs to talk with the GOP. They're the ones who feel his brother had every right to posses his gun. Enjoy your 5 minutes asshole. Little does this piece of shit know, but Ms.Tuff saved his ass from having to look at those families if they had lost their kids. Ms. Tuff made the shooter a mental case rather than a monster. She saved his family name.

38. Something the Right will give maybe 10 seconds too before getting back to their latest outrage.

She should be a roll model for every American working in public safety and in the education system. She needs some PR maybe because when 2 blacks and a white teen horrendously murdered a foreign scholarship student because they had nothing to do, THAT is what the Right talks about - and in the completely wrong context.

She disarmed this guy with wisdom. The student was Australian, studying to be a baseball professional - our "great American Pastime" That time has come and gone. Shooting has taken its place. How many more assault weapons get sold as a result of their scare and hate tactics over this horrific crime?

I'd like to promote Antoinette Tuff to be as well known as Christopher Lane, George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin. A tall order.

I rarely tune into CNN, but there's not much on Friday nights, so I checked out Anderson Cooper and was thrilled to see that he was interviewing her. I'd heard parts of the 911 tape and seen her pic, was blown away by her heroic actions, and was even more impressed hearing from her. She deserves to be recognized by everyone, including the president. And it made me smile that she was so delighted.

40. Obama is planning on inviting her to the White House

Obama plans to embrace a hero at the White House

(CNN) – President Barack Obama said he plans to invite Antoinette Tuff to visit the White House.

Tuff is the hero bookkeeper who talked a suspect into surrendering during a Georgia school shooting Tuesday.

During an exclusive interview with CNN "New Day" anchor Chris Cuomo that airs Friday, Obama said what Tuff did was "remarkable" and something that "probably saved a lot of lives, including the life of the potential perpetrator."

"Here is somebody who is not just courage, not just cool under pressure, but also had enough heart that somehow she could convince somebody that was really troubled that she cared about him," Obama said.

The president continued: "I think we might have to have her maybe make a visit to the White House."

45. Talk about being in the right place at the right time

This school and this community owe Ms. Tuff a HUGE debt of gratitude. No question she saved countless lives while UNARMED! I hope this puts the gun debate back in the forefront - so many shootings this summer because of our outrageous, antiquated gun laws. Next time, and there will be a next time, maybe things won't turn out so well.
