from my email ...
This is huge and it couldn't come at a more important time. Thousands of fast food and other low-wage workers are going on, and calling for, a national strike on August 29.
See why, and help us spread the word about the strike right now:
Workers are on strike!
The more of us who go on strike, the louder our message will be that it's not right for companies making billions of dollars to pay us pennies. The most effective thing you can do right now is help us be LOUD check out our video and share it far and wide after you have.
We'll be in touch with what's next,
Nancy Salgado

very few truckers are in a union, and the ones who are think they are entrepreneurs or something. .

(8,821 posts)The top executives and major stock holders can give up a fraction of their bloated wealth to raise their workers wages. They won't really miss it, and their workers will get a little closer to moving out of poverty.

(5,279 posts)...what?...wait?....Fast food workers??...Oh, well that's good too.
I have considered mentioning the idea of a coordinated nation wide strike. If nothing else to see if we can get it on the mass media. Would TPTB allow their talking heads to mention the potential of a national strike? I'm thinking no.
I wish it was a nation wide general strike, but most people in this country don't have the balls. I will do whatever I can do on that day to make your strike a success.

(1,451 posts)What they are doing should be supported by everyone. When I see them I let down my window and give a holler while blowing the horn in my truck. It is about time that wages go up like the salaries of CEO's.
