2. He's laughing at us.

I can't imagine he's stupid enough to think we're that stupid.

Then again, stranger things have happened.

6. Federal Funding of NASCAR events?

Hold on a minnit... Are you talking about Military Recruitment advertising from sponsorship of individual teams, or actual direct funding (vs. purchased advertising)?
I'm no Cantor fan, but there is enuff mud to stick to this goober without ginning any up 'cuz somebody does'nt understand how racing $ work.

10. "$608 billion defense spending bill slated for professional sports sponsorships..."

"...used to help with military recruiting. The military services sponsor a wide range of professional sports, including bass fishing tournaments and the Ultimate Fighting Championship, but it was the National Guard’s sponsorship of Earnhardt’s car that drew all the attention."

15. It's a big stretch to call a sponsorship "Federal Funding of NASCAR"

The Army sponsors Tony Schumacher's Dragster as well. Team sponsorships are advertising for recruitment, and, for a variety of reasons, motorsports are an ideal demographic for recruiting a technical military.

9. I've yet to see one scintilla of evidence that Phineas was wrong*.

If anything, I think there are more suckers, in both percentage and sheer number, today than when he said that.

I can't even count how many times I've found myself agog at the mind-numbing, slack-jawed, drooling stupidity on display every day everywhere I go anymore. Exhibit 'A'; enough people voted for this moron to put him in office.

13. Actually

I think his entire party counts on the fact that most Americans just aren't paying enough attention to realize how hard the GOP works against them. I mentioned some of the voter ID stuff a few weeks ago at work and nobody there knew what I was talking about. A lot of people just don't keep up with the news, at least not until it starts effecting them, by which time it's too late.
