The profile of the Santorum supporter in Michigan.

After looking over the internals of last night's PPP poll out of Michigan, I think I have a pretty good handle on the Santorum supporter in Michigan:

White, white-collar Protestant/evangelical families. It looks like they range in age from 40 to 60 and make between $45k to $80/year. His deepest wells of support appear to be in Northern Oakland County, suburban and exurban Flint/Saginaw/Bay City north to the middle of the Mitten. Then southwest to the Grand Rapids area down to around Indiana. That could be a problem for Willard because I cannot recall a Republican candidate who won any Michigan primary (statewide or presidential) on the Detroit area alone. Romney does best in the 313 and there just are not enough Republicans there.
