He Lived As Long As He Could Afford To....

I'm not sure whether that's hilarious or incredibly depressing.

I actually took a fast food job once. Thought I could hack it because I only needed it to last a week at most. However, by the time I knew I'd reached my premature limit, I yelled into the drive-through mic so everybody in the joint could hear: "WELCOME TO HAMBURGER HELL, WHERE WE SERVE YOUR ORDER HOT!"

Then I yanked off my cap and apron and ran for the door, because the manager was already after my neck. You never saw anyone peel out of a parking lot so fast. I didn't expect unemployment benefits, but I had to go to court for the meager wages I'd earned.

Believe me, that would bring in the big bucks up here!

Although generally if it's a planned event, I check my escape routes first. Some people can get downright dangerous.

I had to work part-time for an auto parts store when moved to this town.
I knew i had reached my maximum bullshit level when the manager called a meeting to discuss the changes the company was going to implement to offset the ACA.
$500 dollars a month and i averaged over $500 an hour in sales, still there were going to be cutbacks in full time positions.
Increased sales quota's on Dollars Per Transactions and Transactions Per Hour also sales of Project Packs and Promotional Items were to be improved in the store or else the System would automatically terminate the unlucky slacker.

I checked on-line and they had missed their Q3 2012 sales projections and so were looking to sell to an overseas investment firm.
No one could afford the 6 Billion they were asking and Blackstone Management Group were the only ones remotely interested.
We went backwards at my house to the tune of $700 dollars a month while i worked there for five months and i still owe my baby sister $1500 dollars which i am slowly paying back.

My sympathies to the People who have to suffer in this toxic trickle down environment.
My advice;keep looking,go to school, acquire skills but mostly, hang in there.

K&R and straight to facebook.

Years ago, a company (that was known as a pack of assholes) tried to improve employment by having
"2 weeks PAID TRAINING AND 250.00 BONUS !!!"

During training, every low-level employee, I talked to, said it was the worst place they had ever worked.

Yep, all 6 of us that took the offer were paid on a Friday at noon... 2 weeks pay + 250 bucks. Went to lunch and none of us have darkened their door since.
