Note to self, stay out of Stand Your Ground states

In states with Stand Your Ground laws, a person can be shot dead for being perceived as being threatening. If your murderer is put on trial, the trial is not about whether or not the guy who took your life actually shot you. Rather, the trial is about the murder victim. If the dead person could be perceived as being a threat to the murderer, then sociopaths can get away with murder. Best to stay out of Stand Your Ground states.

Stand Your Ground states:
Alabama
Arizona
Florida
Georgia
Indiana
Kentucky
Louisiana
Mississippi
Montana
Nevada
New Hampshire
Oklahoma
Pennsylvania
Tennessee
Texas
Utah

2. Luckily none of them are on my list of places to visit anyway.

Stand your ground is not a law, it's license to kill. Never thought I'd live to see this!

3. The Z case wasn't about Stand your

Ground. The SYG law in Florida was never used in Z's defense. This was a classical self-defense case.

4. My in laws live in Arizona so I have to go at least once a year

But I keep low key and would never set foot in a bar. Too bad about Nevada. But looking at the list I'll not be going to any of these states for vacation any time soon. I always wanted o drive across the country by car I'll have to be creative in my route.
