Introducing Discussionist: A new forum by the creators of DU

Shout out to Dennis Kucinich!

Not sure if he ever stumbles in here, but I, for one, would like to acknowledge his contributions to this country, his very astute political acumen, and his stances on most of the issues over the years. Your voice is missed on the national stage, and particularly with regards the issues of late.

2. Fox hired him so you could say that.

I bet they are probably happy as hell that it worked, at least on you.

3. Wow.

If you want to listen to Dennis, go to FOX. That's where he is.

The DU is getting weirder and weirder every day.

4. I didn't notice DU getting weird

but then that's probably because I'm from Portland OR
where the motto is "Keep Portland Weird", being sported
every other bumper in town.

It's just the water this fish swims in I guess.

But in all seriousness, I'm sorry if you experienced my reply
as "offensive" in any way. I think I mistook your intent.

This is supposed to be democraticUNDERGROUND...not mainstream fluff...people come here because they find real news and discussion unlike most media outlets. Stifling discussion would just make us more like HuffingtonPost or republican controlled RollCall or Politico...let the reader be the final judge and reserve moderation for obscenity, personal attacks or trolling. I love Dennis and am not scared of him being on FOX...I loved Congressman Wexler a lot and he was n FOX often although his unexplained retirement from successfully defending liberal causes makes me wonder, given recent revelations, if NSA found something embarrassing in his email or phone calls. We need more politicians with the cajones to not care what might be disclosed about them.

6. Had no idea he was on Fox, as I never go there. I might have to look him up.

I am sure his voice is the lone voice of reason in that morass.

5. One of my favorite DK quotes:

paraphrased, not exact, except for the part in quotes IS exact.

He said this as his last few days to be in Congress were ticking away,
Washington DC has become "nothing more than one big Punch & Judy
Show", to amuse and confuse the masses.

7. He did a heck of a job in congress. Shame what they did to him. I really hoped it was true he was

shopping for a new district to run in, but apparently not so. :/

10. I was, too, but he apparently decided not to.

He's been my candidate since 2003, when he was labeled as "unpatriotic" for opposing the invasion of Iraq. He's never been afraid to speak out, but I'm afraid that cost him...

9. I wanted to vote for him in the primary but it was too late.

Much more sad now than it was at the time.

12. I loved to hear him speak too! Didn't they

rig his district away so that his voters were spread into republican districts?

15. He is missed, isn't he!

Don't fret though, he'll always have a home in Ron Paul's imaginary cabinet.
