April 1st deadline for Obamacare Health Plans.

Last edited Mon Feb 13, 2012, 02:59 AM - Edit history (1)

Yeah I call it Obamacare and so does Thom Hartmann. He says it honors Obama. But anyway. April 1st Obamacare lets the insurance companies raise the prices of their Obamacare individual policies quite a lot. SO if you havent switched yet do it now to lock in a lower premium.

Do you have a link or something that explains a little more detail of what you are talking about?

Who can do this?

Is this something I can do to get health insurance?

thanks.

I had an individual health care plan and just found out Friday that if I want an OCare plan I have to get it before April 1st if I want to lock in the much lower premium.
The Obamacare plan is a MUCH better deal than my old plan as far as benefits. ie, it pays 40% of my $7000 deductible! It's about the same cost though.

I've never heard of this or the deadline

Is this for people with pre existing conditions?

As far as I know these policies don't kick in until 2014

The plan available to me now has 2 big additions to my old plan.

Dozens of FREE preventative screening procedures like colonoscopies and heart screenings etc which can be up to $5000 on my present plan

and it will pay 40% of my $7000 deductible. The company rep said she will be sending my 2 or 3 plans to compare to my present plan.

But on April 1st, the OCare plan monthly premium will increase about 20% so if you buy it before then you can lock in the lower premium.
I have tried to google more information about April 1st but I havent found anything. Maybe the corporate media is trying to keep it quiet?

Just curious, who do you have insurance with? My supplemental is with Group Health. Before Medicare I had a policy with them that cost about $250 a month and had a really high deductible.

I was very grateful the day I got on Medicare!

Can't afford it. Got laid off and could not afford COBRA. 2 years to Medicare. Too much money and assets for Medicaid. Crossed fingers for 2 more years.
