Never thought I'd be saying this, but GO RON PAUL!!!

In an earlier post, I opined that the Republican Primary wouldn't officially be a clusterfuck until Ron Paul finally won a state. At the time, I said

"When you have four candidates left in a primary by mid-February, all of them having won states, all of them refusing to quit--then the GOP qualifies as a very sick elephant indeed."

But honestly, I didn't think it could actually happen! That was before Santorum won 3 states on Tuesday and Romney suddenly looked as weak as he did after South Carolina. Now, according to the official tabulated results, Paul has 42% of the vote to Romney's 32%.

Who else wants to see this messy 3-way competition turn into a frantic 4-way? GO RON PAUL!!!

this puke primary. I hope they destroy everything about that damned party, they need a little deep cleansing.

Through March, Paul can pick up delegates, and that makes it harder for anyone to lock up a majority of the delegates before the convention.

After April 1, the states can go winner-take-all, and most will. At that point, I think Paul might be siphoning off votes that could help one of the other contenders block Romney.

It would be nice if Paul got enough votes to encourage him to run on the Libertarian line, but my guess is that he won't.

He probably envisions that Rand might want to run as a Libertarian, as he himself (Ron) did once, but that Rand might also want to try to win over the GOP establishment. Ron won't want to poison that option by running against the Republican nominee.

At least Gary Johnson, as the Libertarian nominee, will be a somewhat better votegetter than the typical Libertarian candidate.

stay in it right up until the convention. At least it will provide us with some humor.
