My occasional debate opponent, Rachel Marsden, says she has exclusive info re: Snowden

"I HAVE A MAJOR WORLD EXCLUSIVE RE SNOWDON/NSA, 1PM CST CHICAGO TIME. BUCKLE UP, THIS IS GOING TO GET CRAZY. THE NARRATIVE IS ABOUT TO CHANGE."

I am guessing the 1pm Chicago time is because it will be released then at the Chicago Tribune where she writes.

I have no idea what she is going to be saying.

7. There is certainly a crazy, half-assed attempt to destroy Snowden...
Tue Jun 11, 2013, 11:09 AM
Jun 2013

I've seen articles about his lack of education, his laziness and the fact that he was unqualified to hold any job. It's ridiculous. Most articles omit that he had incredible computer/technical/programming skills. His technical expertise was impressive and propelled his career and enabled him to secure these jobs.

Someone is cherry-picking information from his resume and purposely destroying him.

I would think that anyone with two functioning synapses can figure out what is going on here. They're attacking the messenger. If the can make it all about Snowden, while discrediting him--the sheep will magically ignore that our government has the capability and authority to snoop (without our knowledge or consent) into our electronic communications and phone calls.

I mean seriously. Are people going to fall for the "Snowden is a bad, bad man" marketing blitz?

Are we that dumb?

I'm not suggesting that this will be the jist of the Tribune article, as I don't even have a guess. However, it is worth noting that there is a concerted effort to shift focus from our government to Snowden, and make him out to be a larger-than-life, evil villain.

76. I can see you haven't thought this through so I am going to help you

I post all kinds of things on DU that I think are newsworthy. When I agree with a viewpoint, I am not exactly a shrinking violet about saying so.

I occasionally post things from Free Republic as do other DUers. They aren't doing that to 'Promote' Free Republic or the viewpoint being espoused there. When I post TV appearances, I am frequently up against conservative commentators. I dont post those videos to promote the conservative view being posted.

More to the precise point: When Donald Trump said that he had birther news about Obama that supposedly was going to change everything, I dont think we got after the folks who posted his pre-notice when he posted the actual stuff that was a complete fizzle.

That was Trump's responsibility to back up, not the responsibility of the folks who posted OPs on DU alerting us to Trump's claim.

82. If that's how you see it, you might want to consider the way you present the material

You are promoting her as a person you know that you think we should pay attention to, not as a birther hack. You are not even being honest about what you are doing, nor did you answer any of the questions put to you about mutual interests with this person you are 'letting us know about'.
Donald Trump is pretty far off topic. Ranting when asked direct questions is always charming, but it is a tired tactic and makes me want to ask all the questions again. I asked about your relationship to this hack. You spoke of Donald Trump instead, Palin style.
I wish you very good luck, assuming it's show night.

I asked you questions about our relationship with her, professionally speaking, which you did not answer. And I will assume that which I assume is true because you won't answer when asked. Very simple questions. Very.

The drama you are attempting to create over this is hilarious. All over DU we post crap from rightwingers to talk about all the time. In the LGBT group we note horrible things people have said about LGBT rights and then we discuss it.

Why are you trying to pretend this is somehow different?

Professional relationship? You already know it. We've appeared against each other a few times on TV on various economic issues. Which is pretty much what I said in the OP. You already had all the info you seem to be foaming at the mouth about.

Maybe Greenwald thought he'd report this a week ago, but some delay popped up--I have no idea, and this is just by way of example. You want to get a prescience credit for having news before anyone else does, but as you're seeing, that can cut two ways.

alerted fellow DUers with an OP.

Are you saying I shouldn't do that in the future because why?

Her claim itself was news. If another pundit made that claim and any of you saw it, I would expect you would post it too.

It has lots of verbiage but does not answer any of the questions I asked you. It has a smug kick off. No responsive content.
