And they loathed Bill to the point of impeaching him over a blowjob.

Because there are not just folks on the right that hate them.

There are bigots on the left too -and they tolerate them and hold their noses at them being black.

There ARE bigots who don't like us black folk on the left -they just hide it the best they can.

what else can it be but that they can't be having someone out side of the old white mans club be successful. I mean it might encourage some of else of the non white male club to make a run for the Presidency.
I hope our next President is a woman. That'll really have their shorts all wadded up. Hillary or Elizebeth would be fine with me. Hill for Pres with Lizzy as vice. Now that would be a ticket I could get all excited about.

the right doesn't personally hate Obama, they have built up an imaginary Obama with extreme views whose policies they fear and loathe. The actual Obama, they don't seem to know much about or care much about.

I think it has as much to do with personal styles as anything else. Michelle seems to project warmth and support and Hillary was never able to do that.

The mere mention of the name "Hillary" would evoke a Pavlovian response from regular Rush Limbaugh listeners. It probably still does, if you can find any of them left.

But one of 'the help' becoming President?

There's a reason that the teahadists didn't organize until Obama was in office.

Many of the right wing attacks on President Obama, his wife, and his family, are tied to specific negative stereotypes of African Americans.

The right has been using negative stereotypes of African Americans forever to maintain their base.

If those stereotypes can be refuted by this President and his family, the impact of that has powerful repercussions going forward. And the far right does not want this to happen.

The left likes to believe that there can't be any racists in its ranks, but there sure is. Boy did I wake up in 2007-2008. The racism was unbelievable.

Are directing at Obama. And the violent threats get worse every single week. I can't log onto a news site without reading about some asshole getting arrested or detained by the Secret Service for a violent outburst or threat directed at Obama. I don't remember seeing this kind of violent vitriol under Clinton but then again I was a teenager during those years.

Bill Maher was right - being the president after George Bush is like being the maid after Led Zeppelin has been in the room.
