TX Colleges: Faculty will need to exercise caution while grading...

Texas lawmakers okay law to allow college kids to bring guns on campus

Lawmakers in Texas approved a bill on Sunday that will let college kids possess guns on campus so long as they keep them in their vehicles, according to The Associated Press.

The Texas House and Senate previously approved the measure amid a flurry of pro-gun bills the legislature passed earlier this month, but it was not final due to slight differences between each chamber's version.

A reconciled version of the bill gained final approval on Sunday and Gov. Rick Perry (R), himself an ardent firearms enthusiast, is expected to sign it into law.

where students have been allowed for years to carry concealed on campus? Or Colorado State Colleges where concealed carry has been allowed for a few years now?

This is nothing more than fear mongering, the firearms will have to be kept in the vehicles, not on the person.

That's the first place these legislators should make into an all weapons allowed area.

Let's see them sweating bullets.

campus that have a firearm or two in them.

A law never stopped anyone. People I know that have concealed carry that are taking college courses for one. Do you think they drive home after work, drop off their handgun, and then head out to class? LOL

is there a force field that magically disintegrates guns that disgruntled students try to bring on campus now?
Or is a student who is intent on shooting a faculty member going to say "F' it, if the gun isn't in my trunk it is too much work" ?

What's keeping kids from shooting instructors over grades now? Certainly not a law that says they can't carry on campus. If they are inclined to that sort of violence, they are going to do it regardless of what laws are in place.
