A judge in Florida has ordered a man accused of domestic violence to take his wife on a date for her birthday, including flowers, Red Lobster and bowling.

Joseph Bray’s wife, Sonya, told Broward County Judge John “Jay” Hurley that she had gotten mad at her husband because he failed to wish her a happy birthday, according to the Sun Sentinel.

I don't have any other words for something this stupid. Why didn't "Judge" Hurley just step down off the bench and beat her himself? Because he's telling the husband that abuse is okay if you buy her dinner. That almost guarantees her many more beat downs.

unfortunately, I don't think this idiot judge can even be recalled. I remember years ago wanting to recall another idiot judge, and was told that florida did not have a recall provision for elected officials.
