Mitt Romney's message from GOP: Step it up

Mitt Romney’s poor performance Tuesday is prompting congressional Republicans to go public with a bracing message to the front-runner: time to step it up, Mitt.

A day after Romney was convincingly defeated by Rick Santorum in non-binding contests in Minnesota, Colorado and Missouri, high-profile Republicans voiced long-simmering worries that the would-be standard-bearer lacks a compelling message for conservatives — and must be bolder to capture the party’s nomination.

The admonition came from outspoken conservatives and members of Congress who typically stay out of party spats.

“There is not exactly Romney-mania right now,” Senate GOP Whip Jon Kyl told POLITICO, adding that the former Massachusetts governor “absolutely” must shore up the weaknesses with the GOP base that were on such vivid display Tuesday.

Romney has nothing else to offer than a well fitting suit and stylish hair cut. Beyond that, the Dutch runs cold in this one.

Imagine a Democrat primary where the choice was limited to Chris Dodd, Joe Manchin, and Joe Lieberman.

we had it all, you believed in me; i believed in you.
certainties disappear
what do we do for our dream to survive?
how do we keep all our passions alive as we used to do?

deep in my heart, i'm concealing
things that i'm longing to say
scared to confess what i'm feeling...
frightened you'll slip away
you must love me
you must love me

why are you at my side?
how can i be any use to you now?
give me a chance, and i'll let you see how
nothing has changed!!

deep in my heart, i'm concealing
things that i'm longing to say
scared to confess what i'm feeling...
frightened you'll slip away
you must love me
you must love me

you must love...mitt...
