Darrell Issa: Too Fast to be Furious!
Tea Partied and WEALTHIEST Republican Congressman, Darrell Issa of California, has taken his chairmanship of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee to the LOWEST OF LOWS with his “Fast and Furious” hearings. According to a Huffington Post article, Issa, originally, stated that his investigations would cover “corruption in the war in Afghanistan, WikiLeaks, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the Food and Drug Administration”. So far, Issa’s investigations have turned out to be UNFOUNDED, DISRESPECTFUL CIRCUS SIDE SHOWS orchestrated to – as Politico puts it – “take aim at what HE believes are missteps by the (Obama) administration.”
The Sun Herald reported that “Fast and Furious” pertained to the botched gun-trafficking incident in which “the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives let illegal weapons flow across the border into Mexico and into the hands of criminal as part of a failed sting operation meant to track the guns and nab drug lords.” Issa and his FABRICATION Committee had absolutely NO interests in determining all of the circumstances surrounding the incident. They, gleefully, WASTED MILLIONS OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS with two years of investigations including the testimonies of 22 OF THEIR OWN witnesses trying to make it LOOK LIKE Attorney General Eric Holder was in a COVER-UP regarding the sting.
After all was said and done, Issa and his Tea Partied Fabrication Committee were “FURIOUS” about NOT being able to find any SUBSTANTIATED cover-up evidence against Holder. So, they decided to INSULT the Attorney General instead. Tea Partied Oversight Committee member ANN MARIE BUERKLE OF NEW YORK stated: “Let me ask it this way: How many more Border Patrol agents would have had to die as a part of Operation Fast and Furious for you to take responsibility?” Tea Partied Oversight Committee member RAUL LABRADOR OF IDAHO called Holder a “liar”, and I guess Tea Partied Oversight Committee member TIM WALBER OF MICHIGAN must have been sleeping throughout ALL of the hearings because - OUT OF THE BLUE - he blasted Holder for reopening a “criminal investigation into abuse and torture of terrorism detainees by CIA operatives and interrogators”?!?!
Here are a few ISSUES OF SUBSTANCE I’d like to see Issa investigate:
1. To what extent did HEALTH INSURANCE INDUSTRY LOBBYISTS influence Tea Partied Republican votes AGAINST the Affordable Health Care Act?
2. To what extent do CORPORATE LOBBYISTS influence Tea Partied Republican’s fight FOR extending Bush tax cuts for the wealthy?
3. To what extent did legislation WRITTEN BY NRA LOBBYISTS influence Tea Partied Republicans’ vote to carry concealed guns across state lines even if states didn’t allow it?
4. What are the negative psychological and life-threatening impacts of Congressional AND individual state legislative bills, WRITTEN BY ANTI-ABORTION GROUPS, related to banning a woman’s LEGAL right to terminate a pregnancy as a result of rape, incest or endangerment to the life of the mother?
Now, those are investigations WE ALL can get “furious” about!
