does this song promote date rape?

Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off

She said I’m going out with my girlfriends
Margaritas at the Holiday Inn
Lord have mercy, my only thought
Was Tequila makes her clothes fall off

I told her put an extra layer on
I know what happens when she drinks Patrone
Her closet’s missing half the things she’s bought
Ya Tequila makes her clothes fall off

(Chorus)
She’ll start with kickin’ out of her shoes
Loose an earring in her drink
Leave her jacket in the bathroom stall
Drop a contact down the sink

Them pantyhose aint gonna last too long
If the DJ puts Bon Jovi on
She might come home in a table cloth
Ya tequila makes her clothes fall off

Break

She can handle any champagne brunch
A bridal shower with Bacardi punch
Jello shooters full of Smirnoff
But Tequila makes her clothes fall off

Chorus

She don’t mean nothing - she’s just havin fun
Tomorrow she’ll say oh what have I done
Her friends will joke about the stuff she lost
ya tequila makes her clothes fall off
oh Tequila makes her clothes fall off (x2)

You've never been to a drunk party where people get a little wild and start stripping?

(whole point of song by the way...I.E. the line about wearing a tablecloth home)

the woman in the song is a fantasy of the songwriter, who digs the idea of this fictional woman getting so drunk she always takes her close off around a bunch of drunk men. what could possibly go wrong?

In the song, she's his girlfriend. She's going out with friends. If she drinks tekilla, she tends to get nekkid. Friends watch her lose items of clothing and jewelry. Laugh about it the next day because she she drank tekilla and lost clothes and jewely. Case closed.

Not even close. And at the end of the video I am pretty sure it shows this isn't a fantasy so much as the woman in question is probably over 70.

And it's sorta true. Booze loosens inhibitions and sometimes clothing does seem to fall off.

And it's not just booze. I remember a small party back in my weed-smoking days. Someone came up with a bright idea, as often happened when everyone was stoned out. "Hey, what if everyone took all their clothes off?" So everyone did. The party continued. Eventually, everyone put their clothes back on. Nothing else happened.

If you happen to live a joyless existence where every mention of a woman in a song constitutes date rape, or objectifying etc. It's all the rage around here these days.

*Edit: Once again certain people, for whatever reason, seem intent on "blurring the line." I won't accuse them of ill intent but it is starting to weird me out.

The lyrics don't bother me nearly as much as the fact that the music is god awful.

She gets drunk at takes her clothes off...which you will notice is her choice. No one forced her to drink and get nekked. It was her choice. Rape is not a choice. If it was promoting rape, shouldn't there be something in it about rape?

Sorry but I don't see it.

and half the people there, men included, lost their clothes due to tequila. I left too early to find out if anything non-consensual (due to intoxication) took place, buy my guess is no because it looked like everyone there was headed for being passed out. I could be wrong, but since I wasn't inclined to go unconscious and/or painfully ill, I left when the jello shots came out.
