(185 posts)Everything's spelled correctly, but her "was" should be the counterfactual subjunctive "were."

But yeah, not a teabagger, and a terrific message. 8)

(12,041 posts)When ballot initiatives to ban gay marriage started to be pushed across the nation the inequality and hate became obvious to many millions of Americans. It was not the gay rights movement that made this the number one issue, it was the religious right that made it the number one issue. What the gay rights movement did is they fought against the inequality and bigotry that was being pushed and when they fought back they turned public opinion to their side. The gay rights movement deserves major props for their coming victory in the long struggle for equality, the bigots who oppose marriage equality can go straight to hell.

(603 posts)A few phrases from the song that fit perfectly here:
Were you born an asshole?
Or did you work at it your whole life?
Either way it worked out fine
'Cause you're an asshole tonight.
You were an asshole yesterday.
You're an asshole tonight.
And I've got a feelin'
You'll be an asshole the rest of your life.
And all your friends are assholes
'Cause you've known them your whole life.
And somebody even told me
You've got an asshole for a wife.

(4,192 posts)The bottom line for me regarding sexual relations is whether or not someone is being hurt. But two people who like or love each other and make each other happy? What more could we hope for, for them! This hate some people have over sexual orientation makes no sense at all and is the real problem. That's what is hurting people.

(11,760 posts)Whether orientation is a Choice, or one is "Born that way" shouldn't make a difference to anyone other than yourself.
Love the sign.
