What is happening with the Voting Rights Act ought to be a major wake-up call to Dems
to put more money, effort, and candidates into state and local elections from now on. Registration and voter education drives for 2014 ought to be taking place right now!! We have the numbers in many areas that Dems seem to have given up on. Sure, there are gerrymandered districts that we will never win but there are some that we can win with a little more effort and support. AND NO REPUBLICAN SHOULD EVER BE ALLOWED TO RUN UNOPPOSED...even if we run Mickey Mouse. At the very least we should be forcing GOP candidates to spend money, time, and exposure to the people against an opponent. In many cases people just don't have another point of view to listen to.

1. That was Howard Dean's strategy--and the Dems in power drove him out

of power and abandoned his (obviously wildly successful) approach. Dean felt we should field candidates in every every election everywhere, not just focus on a few swing districts or states.
Sure, he was focused on national elections, because he was the Party chairman at the time, but he has also said we should be fielding candidates in every election and in every part of the country. |

4. That Was Before "Citizens United"

Would even Howard Dean attempt such a strategy today against the flood of super-PAC money?

Dean's group is still active and helped Grayson and Kelly. It's up to the people to do our part one precinct, county and state at a time. The Kochroaches and their foreign allies are selling off the assets to the highest bidder in Grand Theft USA. No time to waste.
