sequestration is like saving time by undercooking eggs.
hey i'm always late for work, so i figured i would just cut 8% of the time of everything i do, to shorten my commute.
i refuse to rush my morning shower, so i'll just leave 8% of my body unclean. should i rotate which 8% from day to day or....? i'll eat my eggs runny to save 8% off my breakfast cooking time. oh and who needs to chew? i'll just wolf it down. what's the worst that could possibly happen? conveniently, i have exactly 12.5 kids. one of them (8%, i love it when the math works out!) won't get a good-bye kiss in the morning. sorry kid, gotta save 8% across the board! i'll just drive faster in order to shave 8% off my drive. hope i don't get any tickets! but i definitely won't look for a better route. that's cheating! i can't make the elevator go 8% faster, so i'll have to run up the stairs at a faster pace than the elevator. i'll be in much better shape, at least if i don't have a heart attack first! at the grocery store on the way home, i'll skip one the of the aisles to save time. who needs toilet paper anyway? when i unload, i'll leave one of the bags in the car. hope it's not the frozen food! anyone who says sequestration is better than no spending cuts at all must also believe that 2 wrongs make a right, or actually that millions of wrongs make a right. sequestration is a way to lower your spending by 8% while lowering the value you get for that spending by MUCH more than 8%. even if you think it gets the amount of spending right, if forces it to be spent remarkably stupidly, and therefore amounts to throwing away money.

1. Republican' got you covered. Their new bill legally lowers the boiling point of water to 106 F.

They're proud to announce you will save time and energy when you need to boil water for something!
