Why exactly are conservatives attacking the right to vote?

Isn't it ironic that the same people who have spent the last few years characterizating President Obama as a "dictator" and "king" are the same ones attacking Americans' right to vote?

1. They don't mind people voting

as long as those people are white, Christian, straight and affluent.

6. AND CONSERVATIVE

Because a white, Christian, straight, affluent Liberal would be called an "elitist"; while a white, Christian, straight, affluent Conservative is a "hard working UGHmuriKKKan.

2. the lower the vote the more likely they will win

because white men over 60 are not likely to lose their vote and are mist likely to vote.

4. Why exactly are conservatives attacking the right to vote?

Disenfranchising the people they want to screw the worst, from voting, keeps those people from voting against those who screwed them.....Added bonus is that they get to extend, for a time, their looting and pillaging, not to mention racking up more bribe money....Hypocrisy is not only NOT a new development, with these shit-eaters,it's a prerequisite for the privelege of calling themselves conservative....

I have a feeling you know this already......

11. I don't know- I think CATO is a clear step up from Brietbart

I mean the latter is simply a bunch of liars. CATO has gotten some stuff right in the past (particularly in their critiques on the Iraq war).

10. Breitbart is anything but a credible source

and True the Vote is anything but nonpartisan.

But I think you know that.

13. lol...

You've really got to work on that camouflage.

For the record, I think this would be more about vote suppression that voter intimidation. It would be pretty difficult to argue we didn't see massive attempts at voter suppression in the last election-- and for several prior. Look into Florida and Rick Scott.

17. One, because they are racist.

Two, because they know that minorities vote for Democrats.

Three, because they are unAmerican.

Four, because they do not believe in democracy in any form.

Five, because they know they have to cheat in order to win elections in this country from now on.

21. Lemme see. Actually, Thom Hartmann answered that on his show this afternoon.

Since white people are becoming a minority, especially white men, the conservatives are in a quandary. Their voting base is shrinking so the only way they can stay in power is to make it harder for everyone else to vote.

22. Paul Weyrich

"Paul Weyrich, "father" of the right-wing movement and co-founder of the Heritage Foundation, Moral Majority and various other groups tells his flock that he doesn't want people to vote. He complains that fellow Christians have "Goo-Goo Syndrome": Good Government."
