Most every practical crisis in my life has been solved by spending money.

Fuck you, Austerity.

Fuck you, Republicans.

Fuck you, Conservatism.

1. Yep. If I hadn't had the money for a topnotch lawyer when a relative got into trouble, he would

be in jail.

If I hadn't had the money to help my brother when he was unemployed, he'd be living on the street.

If we hadn't had the money to help my MIL when her other son was a complete asshole, SHE'D have been on the street.

Money smooths the way in practical crises, and it's a big fat lie to say it doesn't. You're exactly right, onehandle.

11. No; they are the liars WITH money who try to push that swill on us.

Money can buy a place of quietude, far from the madding crowd.

It can buy American health care.

It can buy essentials, period.

3. I know every problem thus far in my life

Has been directly related to relationships and alcohol, so I avoid both

Isn't spending vast piles if money we didn't have part of what got us into the 2008 crash to begin with? The main problem is everything is just too damn expensive compared to wages and lack of jobs. Insurance, healthcare, education, etc are all way over priced. We're all broke, the government especially, even if they can obtain more revenue we all know it will get wasted or funneled back to the rich and corporations and we'll be right back here or worse in no time.

5. We're not broke

we are spending our money on things like the war machine which sucks up huge amounts of cash and doesn't really provide any return to the taxpayer. Our priorities are way out of whack.

7. It does provide tens of millions of jobs

That would put a dent in tax revenues and 100's of local economies if the military was greatly reduced. Not a fan but just saying war and the military ate a large part of our economy. Hopefully that will change one day.

8. IMO, money can't buy happiness, but it can make your life easier and more comfortable.

Especially when unexpected bumps in the road come up, money helps to smooth them out.

9. When you car needs a new batter so you can get to work

...you spend money.

When the water pipes have burst and you need a shower to get to work...you spend money.

When the bridge, on your way to work collapses...the gov't spends money

When the airport cannot handle incoming and outgoing flight volumes to help industry and vacation money...they government spend money.

Austerity implies there is no money and the infrastructure isn't needed. That is wrong thinking.

14. Most people have had to borrow money or use credit cards to solve a crisis.

You have to spend money to make money.

Spending = Recovery
