20. It's sure as hell not a request. It's a statement,

and in the context it's most certainly understood as an order.

You aren't the boss here. Just kindly go suck an egg.

2. Poutrage by the manufacturers aside.

Why are the police and even retired police exempted from these gun control measures?

Why is it we enact an assault weapons ban, but a retired desk cop can buy all he wants?

4. Aren't there any federal licensing requirements for firms like this...

...and can't they be brought to bear in these cases.

Let's face it, we tell the telephone companies they can't stay in business unless they agree to turn over our personal information to the government at the whim of any mid-level gopher in some security role.

Why not say - look, we're not going to tell you who you have to sell to because that's unAmerican. But we are going to tell you that if you choose to unilaterally decide to blacklist specific law enforcement agencies for any reason (other than they don't pay their bills)...well, if you want to do that OK - but then you're not going to be allowed to sell to ANY governmental agency at any level. It only seems fair that if you decide that some parts of the government aren't going to have access to your wonderful products, well then...no government agency should. It's only fair, no?

Draconian sure but at some point you have to fight bullets with logic, eh ?

5. Does anyone make a pacifier shaped like a gun?

With these whiny manufacturers, I see an emerging market for them.

14. Not all of these companies are small.

MidwayUSA and J&G Sales are fairly large arms distributors. That being said, the big guns (as it were) such as Glock and Smith & Wesson haven't thrown their hats into this ring yet.

17. doubt glock will but if they did it would be time to take notice.

But the companies are free to do this if they wish agencies will just buy weapons from another manufacturer.

That hasn't happened yet, nor do I think it likely.
