Male Domination At Work

But the girl is partly to blame.

Wow, just wow.

From Facebook:

Just in time for Valentine’s Day... a woman lets her boyfriend tattoo his name across her face as a sign of true love. What’s the first word that comes to mind when you see this picture?

Absolutely disgusting. I could never imagine making my girlfriend do something like this. Ever.

She did this after a single date with the dude. Following it up she said to Gawker: It’s a symbol of our eternal devotion. I’d like him to tattoo every inch of my body,”

I'd say they deserve each other

I don't care if they went out on one date or if they've been together for 10 years. There's something wrong with both of them. But, there is something definitely wrong with a guy who would even ponder asking his girlfriend to do something like this.

My thought is how could she allow someone to do this? I've already diagnosed her in my head with Borderline Personality Disorder. Not that I am qualified to diagnose or know enough to do so, but she clearly has boundary issues.

He held a gun to her head?

As DU'ers are prone to say "her body, her choice".

As for jobs, there are some jobs this will be fine if not a plus. Example, bar tender.

The anger and blame on him as if she is some delicate thing easily coerced is especially disgusting.

It wouldn't have been my choice, but then it wasn't.

I wish them the best.

One of the things about women is....their appearance. (Not my opinion - that's a reality in our society.) Even in a seedy bar, men (the main patrons of bars) like women to be attractive. That tattoo may be attention getting, or disgusting, or interesting...but most men are not going to find her attractive with that thing on her face, ESPECIALLY since it is a man's name.

My guess is she's mentally disturbed.

There should be regulations for tattoo shops, preventing this sort of thing, or at least guarding against a drunk person or a disturbed person doing something irreversible like this that will stay with her the rest of her life. You can have tattoos removed, but they still leave a scar. The skin on the face is very delicate, unlike on the arms.

it isn't at all clear that he even asked, much less pressured her to do this. True, he chose to do it and that is disgusting, but the reality is that she may have pressured him into it--I sure don't know.

All that is clear is that they both have problems. Trying to affix blame, partial or full, and motive is almost certainly going to be an exercise in the poster's individual assumptions. Seeing the first picture (the OP) immediately made me assume she was a victim. Seeing the second photo of the two of them leads to a different assumption on my part. Hearing that this was done after a single date leads me to yet another assumption.

For the record, my assumption as of now is that something is very wrong with both of them, but if they are both happy with the situation, it isn't my business.
