http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022387155Rachel's Special about the war in Iraq. Though with us she will be re-tuning the choir's songs - it will probably be must see TV, like most of what she does.
Without a doubt we will find out some things even we did not know.
We also I think would do well to know what it is others will hear and see. Those around us who are not as aware as we are.

Get an early start, as there are a couple of popup ads and a voiceover ad that need to run their course.

(111,253 posts)I'm eager to find out if she's got anything we didn't already know about the OSP and the PNAC crowd faking all that "intelligence" to start a war that only Israel and the oil barons wanted.
ETA: geckosfeet, I'm sure there will be lots of stuff on You Tube by tomorrow, as well as on MSNBC and Rachel's site. You won't miss out for long. There might even be some live blogging tonight, here and elsewhere.

(111,253 posts)It's gotten really big since that first season. What did the first winner get, luggage or something?
Even though it's repeated during the week, I love to see it the first night before spoilers appear on the web.
This is the first year I haven't picked the final three right out of the gate.

(34,376 posts)Nobody better than RuPaul. I've been a fan for 20 years. I remember Cindy Crawford joking at how unfair it was that he looked better in a dress than she did and it was true, LOL.
Have a good day and "don't f#@*k it up!" :-D

(18,402 posts)An examination of why the medianot just the New York Times and Judith Miller, or the Washington Post, but all the way up and down the spectrum, except for a few small left-wing outletsbought what these guys were selling, and gave total short shrift to those who questioned what Cheney was saying, from Anthony Zinni to FBI personnel and others. If it was covered at all, it was always buried on page A23. I remember I used to post the page numbers of where the counter-arguments from seasoned professionals were being quietly buried. We were tearing our hair out trying to get the facts about yellowcake and aluminum tubes and Prague and the impossibility of Saddam working with al Qaeda out in the open.
I already know the story of how that administration and the neoconservatives around them sold this war. But I will never figure out, and never forget, how the media, despite serious questions about the administration's allegations, just spit it back out lock, stock, and barrel. I don't particularly want to relive the blood-pressure-raising story of how they lied. I remember it in some detail. But I'd be fascinated to hear the story of how and why the media complied so obediently.
I wish Rachel would host a story about that.

(22,380 posts)is one of my top 20 or so favorite movies.
Other than in that film, I'm not all that crazy about Julie Andrews. I love love love it - and maybe after Rachel I will watch it to calm myself.
Some of James Garner's moments are film history.
(just between us, I have a transvestite friend, who once was a handsome young man, and "dressed up" was a drop dead gorgeous girl. I taught her how to dress with class. I kept a few photos on my shop wall of "her" for the express purpose of re-creating in front of my very eyes the dawning of the unspeakable in James Garner in the movie: he was attracted to a "man".
With great anticipation I watched this same embarassed horror come over customers of mine who would ask leeringly: "who is this gorgeous girl" and I'd say: "That's a boy."
I think James Garner & Robert Preston steal the show. Also fun stuff from Alex Karrass and Lesley Ann Warren.

(50,130 posts)There are so MANY great ones. I once knew a director of film comedies; he said the scene where the GF is walking down the length of the train ranting after being sent away was pure genius.

I already know most of the story, and I don't need to see Rumsfeld talk about known unknowns yet again. I'll read the reviews tomorrow.
