2. Well, we all know that isn't going happen

The RCC is just like the republicans......the party of old, bitter, white men. The repub's war on women and the vatican's war on the nuns. Same play book

4. Certainly does seem like a big fat deja vu, doesn't it?

Deja vu all over again, as the saying goes. We'll be lucky to get past the 15th Century. I just kinda wish it weren't another European, which I suspect we'll wind up with. I'd like to see a pope chosen from an area of the world with the most Catholics. It'd be nice to see some other part of the world represented for a change. AND it'd be nice if mahony stayed home. Why he still gets a voice in this and still enjoys this privilege with all its accompanying perks just makes no sense.

6. More Catholic-bashing. This makes me sad, DU. How about a bit of respect for my religion's leader?

I usually feel at home here until the Catholic-bashing begins.

7. How about some respect for the thousands of children his actions put into

danger? I hear there are "good" catholics out there.... great your soon to be former pope isn't one of them. He deserves all the ridicule and scorn that can be heaped upon him. If he hasn't directly harmed a child, he was aware of what was happening through out the religion he was leading and took actions that protected the church, not the innocent children!
Fuck the rat pope and all his followers.....

9. You think a call for modern diversity in leadership is Catholic bashing? Whatever. nt
