The right decision on this issue will buy a lot of rehab in my eyes.

4. Lots of people at that rally. Imagine...

Imagine if instead of standing by the Washington monument, they were instead blocking construstion.

It just isn't clear.

6. The reason for this pipeline.

The refinery in Texas that can only refine the heavy dirty slimy oil from Canada is owned by the Koch brothers. Presently they have to get their heavy oil from Venezuela. The oil from Canada comes at a price about $33 a barrel cheaper. Then when the oil is refined, it goes overseas. If it (the refined product) does stay in the US, it won't be any cheaper than what we pay now. The carbon footprint of this type of oil is totally against what is trying to be done by our present administration to address global warming. Lose/lose.

10. The sludge left over from processing the slurry is almost as toxic as the original source.

Where are they going to dump that, eh?

Did someone mention the refinery is near the Gulf and in the path of major storms?

11. I think it is 60/40 Obama will bring down the hammer.

Just a feeling I have these days that he will do it but I am still 40% shaky and will not be surprised either way. I do have my fingers crossed.

13. I'd actually be surprised if he DIDN'T do SOMEthing about the issue.

But, unfortunately, stranger things have indeed happened, so I'm not jumping to conclusions yet, either.
