36. Ditto!

The names they have for some of the strains, oh my! My numero uno fave is Agent Orange. I wish someone would come up with an Agent Smith. Fuckin' A, I'd smoke that!

One strain I will never buy is Jack the Ripper. Just can't do it. So many good strains, why buy one named that?

5. I got a refund that I have been waiting for since mid-October & had to fight to get.

It took letters, emails & phone calls to get the company to follow up with a refund like they promised. I heard 'the check must have gotten lost' & 'the check got returned by the Post Office' & finally last week got my refund.

6. how much are they charging for this stuff?

I would have figured that they would be better prices than what you pay on the street.

Don't tell me they're gouging people for medical hooch?!

There is a lot of money to be made without screwing the public.

Someone let me know - I'm curious...

7. $175-200 for most strains, some upper end strains at $225.

But dispensaries give discounts for members & usually have some kind of other daily specials, so you can get better deals. Many of them work with health professionals & offer discounted services like massage & acupuncture.

The edibles are really the way to go, imo. I also use a salve that is so relieving for the pain in my wrist & shoulder from years of checking groceries. Another fave product is a little bottle of drops I put in my tea before bed. My sister takes big pharma sleep aids & has stories of side effects & effectiveness. I drink my cup of tea & sleep fine without any side effects.

13. I love the drops!

While recovering from a car accident, they were such a HUGE help.
And yup, put 'em in my tea.
Didn't get "high" in the traditional sense - it was just my whole body feeling better.

20. Back when I had a career ending injury, pot was the only pain reliever I could find that

didn't have deadly side effects. Indica worked better than Sativa. Couch lock was what I needed. Since then I'm either doing better, or my pain threshold has changed. I don't need to medicate myself now.

44. And such good sleep!

In our stressful culture, it's important to get good rest. To that end, we all should have a selection of natural salves & tinctures to alleviate aches & pains, instead of big pharma's toxic mix*. The products I purchase are all grown, baked, created, locally with locally grown herb. The tax revenue has been substantial.

* That they import from China with very lenient import regs & who the fuck knows what China is doing?

25. Back in the day it cost $20 per ounce

I don't really care if they are saying that the stuff today is more potent.

It's something that grows. The question would be what are they using today
to increase the potency and how much does it cost the grower?

I always figured that if the tobacco companies started to sell when it got legalized
that you should be able to pick up a pack (20 joints) for $50. That would be plenty
of profit and plenty for the tax man and still reduce the price, considerably, over the
current black market prices.

These people should be tar and feathered with all this - What the market will bear - bull crap.

The greed of the American business person is beyond belief!

Thanks for the info... Hope you feel better.

26. But it's not more potent

30 years ago weed had resin on the joints, radical cotton mouth, and glazed red eyes. No more today. Back then you could smell a good bag of weed in your pocket even double bagged. Today, you could stand next to a cop and he won't smell a thing. And he won't even think you've smoked anything, because your eyes are fine. The price ONLY went up due to inflation, and demand, not because it's better.

I know there are some here who will say what I say is BS. I lived back then, I have been smoking weed for that long. And no it's not my tolerance either. I smoked with people in the 80's who's tolerance should be where mine is now, and they got wasted back then. So to people who think I spew shit, where is the cotton mouth? Where is the red eye? Where is the resin? Where is the overpowering smell?
It's ALL gone.

37. I lived back then too. Maybe you should try a different dispensary.

Yesterday I stopped by my dispensary first, then went to my health food store, one block away. I was in the store for 20 minutes. In the parking lot, when I opened the door to my car, I thought, "Damn! I'm glad I have a red card & a receipt!"

And also that I live in Colorado. Let me remind those of you with attitudes about potheads, it used to be legal.

48. Interesting thing about tolerance....

If you smoke the same weed for an extended period (3 months)
and then try something different you'll get a big kick from
the new stuff.

A friend used to keep three different types in his freezer so that he
could switch off every so often.

I don't know why it just works that way.

I always assumed that THC was what it was but something is different.

11. Yes, because only democrats voted for Amendment 64.

Attitudes like yours that are part of the problem.

In the weeks following the 2012 election, a bipartisan coalition of U.S. representatives, led by Rep. Diana Degette (D-Colo.), introduced H.R. 6606, the Respect States' and Citizens' Rights Act, to prevent federal officials from interfering in Colorado's and Washington's newly enacted laws. A House Republican-sponsored effort is also anticipated. Several House members are also considering separate federal legislation to provide a blueprint for the eventual legalization and taxation of cannabis.

In the other chamber of Congress, Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) recently announced his intent to hold hearings in the 113th Congress to discuss legislative options to ensure that the federal government does not disregard the will of Colorado and Washington voters. "One option would be to amend the Federal Controlled Substances Act to allow possession of up to one ounce of marijuana, at least in jurisdictions where it is legal under state law," Leahy recently wrote in a letter to drug "czar" Gil Kerlowske. "In order to give these options full consideration, the Committee needs to understand how the administration intends to respond to the decision of the voters in Colorado and Washington."

18. This day and age?

Please... You know how many staunch, conservative Republicans I know that have done pot, coke, acid etc.? My girlfriend's step father is a hard core conservative Republican and the only reason he quit smoking pot is because of drug testing.

Being addicted to coke, crack or meth is a bad thing of course but most Americans couldn't care less if someone smokes some weed when they get home from work. I know professional people you'd never even suspect liked them some good weed.

28. Have another drink

Alcohol IS a drug. It's one of the worst drugs around that are legal. Nobody's ashamed of saying they can drink someone under a table. It's rather funny to some. I think it's despicable, but that's me. They even still have commercials for their drug. Their drug is used more by children than pot. And back in the 80's they had 3 frogs telling your child how to say Bud Wise Er, but poor Joe Camel on a billboard in downtown LA has to come down. LOL!

Smoking weed shouldn't be something to be ashamed about. Drinking is.

When I was in my 20's, oh so long ago, I went as a joint for Halloween, one year. It was cool. I used a white sheet. A friend of mine, who was very artistic, painted the ZigZag logo on the sheet. I don't recall exactly how I executed it, but it was cool & I was very popular that Halloween.

A potent strain of marijuana. Named because the AK stands for Afghan Kush, a mountain range in afghanistan where the strain originated. The 47 refers to the approximate 47 day flowering period, which is a shorter flowering period than most strains of marijuana.
