Bumper Sticker today - "Hillary for President 2016"

I saw this today in a Publix Parking Lot in Naples, Florida. Totally shocked in this Tea Bagger place, and so SOON!!!!! Almost felt like waiting around to see who went to that car to give them a very heartfelt thumbs ups!!!!!

We all gotta stick together in this "hometown" of the Space Alien, and McCain and Robme supporters!!!!!

8. Elizabeth doesn't have as much experience or prestige.

There is no comparison between the two. I want us to win in 2016. Elizabeth can run in 2024.

9. I personally don't think that Clinton's record is particularly progressive.

Not nearly so much as Warren's.

And she's not divisive, she's solidly for the American Middle Class.

BTW, I just donated to a Warren website and effort: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022386998

I've never known Hillary Clinton to have modern web-based efforts other than her rather hapless 2008 campaign website.

I, too, want someone who can will and I think Warren's got a far better chance.

We're just going to have to disagree on this.

21. We should both do what we think best...but not to badmouth the other one and

all join forces for the one that wins the primary. Deal?

The thing that bothers me...I think Clinton can beat anyone the reThugs put up ...but I'm not sure Warren could do that without a primary...which would damage them both. I've got my fingers crossed the Dems wont have to have a primary. I know that's wishful thinking.

4. I think Hillary's peak of popularity is past.

Her best chance at the presidency was in 2008. I think she just doesn't have that same popularity as she did back then, and will probably have even less of it by 2016.

Elizabeth Warren or a Hispanic candidate seems like a much more logical candidate choice for 2016.

24. So studies and polls are less valid than gut feelings?

That's the logic that rejects global warming and chooses to teach "abstinence-only" sex ed, the logic that says "intelligent design" is a valid scientific theory, and the logic that chose to go to war with Iraq in spite of the UN weapons inspectors, French and Russian intelligence, and CIA leaks which all gave information that contradicted gut feelings.

Please.

And the Huffington Post isn't "the same media that sold the Iraq war."

13. I don't think a candidate should be chosen based on race or ethnicity or gender.

I'm voting for who I think will make the best President in 2016. If that's a white male, so be it.

6. She looks good on a bumper sticker...in the White House not so much.

DLC, 3rd Way, Triangulation, has had it's day and proved itself to be corrupt.

10. How about a generic bumper sticker that

just says, "Same old Same old for President 2016".

That will cover all the suggestions of Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Al Gore, John Kerry, and several others who have been enthusiastically endorsed for the next election.

11. Oh boy, I can see from the reactions to your OP how this nomination process is going to go

and its looking ugly.

Unless she decides to do something crazy between now and 2016, nothing can stop Hillary if she decides to run. It's going to be an unprecedented coronation that will be celebrated by 90% of the Democratic Party.

And the wailing and gnashing of teeth among some here is clearly going to be loud and bitter about it the entire way.

or even Sir Edmund Hillary, even tho he's kinda dead.

But both would be better choices.

22. Such lunacy.

If people want to worry about the next election, it should be 2014. People think one person as President will solve it all.

23. Money needs to come out of the elections first,

or none of this speculation matters a whit.

This is not a matter of individual politicians and their whims and personalities. It is a SYSTEMIC problem. The system has been rigged and restructured so that nobody who is not in the back pocket of corporations has a chance. With their billions, the oligarchs will select the candidates they want for both parties and destroy anyone else who tries.

If you want real change, the corporate money must come out of the elections before the next campaign. Otherwise we will get more of the same....an election with two candidates who will offer slight variations on the very same agenda: the agenda of the one percent. And once again, Democrats will elect a corporatist and warmonger who will continue to escalate the policies that are impoverishing millions of us....because the only other option will be even worse.

This is the game now. It's reality. And if we care about real change, reform of the purchased system is where all our energies need to be focused.....because in the absence of it, we will continue to get more of the same.

All the hope and excited speculation in the world will not change that.
