Tennessee is her home...

Some Tennessee Democrats are still hoping to get actress Ashley Judd to run for the U.S. Senate from Tennessee—and they may be getting some help from Karl Rove.

Rove’s American Crossroads super PAC is running an ad in Kentucky that features a continuous loop of Judd saying “It just clicked, Tennessee is home.” The airplay of Judd addressing Tennessee Democrats is in response to Washington Democrats trying to talk Judd into opposing Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky. Kentucky is where Judd grew up, though she presently lives in Nashville and was a delegate in the Tennessee Democratic contingent to the convention pledged to President Barack Obama.

Rove told Fox News he will be running more ads “defining” Judd as a Hollywood liberal (from Nashville?) to prevent her from jumping in at the last minute and riding her fame to the Senate. McConnell seat mate, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, has also attacked Judd as supporting a ban on mountaintop mining, noting that Eastern Kentucky’s economy is based on coal.

A National Democratic Committee member predicted that Obama-friendly PACs would raise upwards of $25 million for Judd in an effort to unseat McConnell.

Meanwhile, Judd is still living in Nashville and has split with her husband Dario Franchitti, a race-car driver. Politico notes that means Judd won’t be spending time at her Scotland home with Franchitti and thus may indicate she is free to pursue a political career.

as he deserves to be a last term Senator. Ashley Judd seems to be the best suited to make that happen. I really would like to see her talk about "her old Kentucky home".

2. And you don't think we need to get rid of Alexander?

McConnell's approval ratings are low enough that any good Dem could beat him. The same is not true of Alexander, so we need the star power to unseat him.

in their midst and they are their friends and neighbors and there are lots of them! Getting Democrats and Independents excited about voting for a Senator is good for up and down ticket, the states and the whole country.
