Republicans Don’t Want You to Know That Obamacare Is Working
By: Becky Sarwate at Politicus USA http://www.politicususa.com/republicans-obamacare-working.html "SNIP........................................ Then low and behold, early into his first term, Obama and the Democrats actually got something accomplished – with the GOP fighting them every step of the way. It wasn’t pretty. It was embarrassing and painful for almost everybody, and the end result was a far cry from the single payer system that many liberals badly desired. But in the end the Patient Protection and the Affordable Care Act was a huge pivot away from a throughly broken system that seemed to exist for the benefit of health insurance companies, rather than the sick and injured they were created to serve. Republicans wasted no time decrying the Act as the largest increase in government bureaucracy since ___ (fill in the blank), a measure that would drive medical costs and the Federal deficit up rather than down. Through it all, Obama held steady, confident that history would have the final say. It didn’t even take a leap year. Lowrey goes on to write, “In figures released last week, the Congressional Budget Office said it had erased hundreds of billions of dollars in projected spending on Medicare and Medicaid. The budget office now projects that spending on those two programs in 2020 will be about $200 billion, or 15 percent, less than it projected three years ago.” President Obama is way too gracious a person to perform the “I told you so dance” on Capitol Hill to which he is richly entitled. So I will do it for him. BOOM!!! How’s that for change you can believe? .......................................SNIP"

2. Welcome to DU!
|
Walmart IS the very definition of a Sweat Shop. They're hurting because of the ACA? They should stop hurting their workers by exploiting them.
If you REALLY think ACA is "destroying the economy", you should look at Republican Trade and Labor policies for the last 30 years. I'm old enough to remember my first over-the-table job. I was a part time bag-boy for a local supermarket, and my heath care coverage was MUCH better than I have now (and I'm fortunate enough to work for a company that actually CARES about the coverage it gives to its employees). Enjoy your stay... |

3. Yeah, because as Walmart goes
|
so goes the nation.
The very first sentence says the slowdown at Walmart is because of the increase in payroll taxes, something we have because Republicans wouldn't agree to raise taxes on the top 1%. The economy is picking up, slowly but surely, despite the best efforts of Republicans to bring the whole country down around us. |

5. What does Walmart's profits have to do with
|
Obamacare? Most of the people employed there don't even get healthcare.

8. Oh no!
|
Because Wal Mart laying waste to local businesses and having all their manufacturing done by slave labor in China is just so beneficial to the U.S. economy.
