Watching Rubio one more time...

My first reaction was "flop Sweat". On re-watching excerpts (you know, via Colbert & Stewart). It dawned on me that he looked, mostly, like an adolescent (God Bless 'em).

His emotive tones were those of someone trying out a public voice, listening to the sounds of his words as he said them.

And his deer-in-the-headlights manner is pretty much the same as a 17 year old in front of ANY audience.. not just the oft-referenced "frat boy" crowd. (and, note to media: not as familiar a refence to nearly as much of the audience as you think)

If he overcomes it, the footage will DEF be in his bio-reel.

1. It also didn't help that he had to follow one of the greatest public speakers of this generation.

Obama's incredible professionalism made Rubio's amateurism seem even way more amateur.

2. I personally think he took something before he gave his speech hoping it would....

...make him appear more alert and confident. Instead, it made him sweat and gave him a very bad case of dry-mouth.

Hmmmm....let the speculation begin.

3. The furtive reach.

No problem with him taking a drink during the speech. The RW talkers are trying to say that "everyone has done that". The goofy thing was the way he tried to 'sneak' it.

Ducking down and furtively reaching for it he looked like a little kid putting his hand in the forbidden cookie jar.
