2. MSNBC isn't on the bottom tier of subscription packages, they are on higher cost tiers

I would like to see them all in the bottom tier, for better comparisons,

3. MSNBC = higher cost tiers because of low ratings.

It is all about ratings. If you get the ratings you get to be a party to the lower cost tiers. MSNBC has to get some decent hosts that Americans actually want to watch to get to the lower cost tiers. It is almost like MSNBC wants to put themselves out of the market.

Oh my God, Ed now has the washed up Elliot Spitzer on and the perpetual guest Bernie Sanders. He needs to get some people on there that people want to watch.

They are second to FOX ahead of HLN & CNN, they started later.

5. You know, make all the excuses you want for MSNBC ratings. Bottom line is they don't have viewers.

They don't have viewers. They get pushed off to the channels that cost subscribers more because there are few sponsors willing to support the cost of including the in the broadcast.

You seem to forget, a huge chunk of the cost of broadcasting cable is carried by the show advertisers. If you don't have advertisers because you have low ratings, the actual subscribers have to pay the cost.

9. Lots of ads is an indicator of poor ratings.

5 ads for $5,000 each instead of 1 ad for $30,000 over the course of 5 minutes. That is what happens when you have rotten ratings. You have to cut the rate and have ads coming out of your ears to cover costs or you have to raise the cost to subscribers so much they won't subscribe.

Rachel has first fifteen minutes ad free then they come closer together. Ed starts slower but in the last 20 minuites they pile on ads and promos. They are still ahead of CNN and HLN
