Rep. Alan Grayson's Big Swing

http://politicalwire.com/archives/2013/02/11/graysons_big_swing.html

Grayson's Big Swing

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) told Roll Call that the House historian "informed him the victory, a 43-point swing from his 2010 loss, was the biggest comeback in history of the House. His lesson from the experience is to press on, full steam ahead."

2. That would be good.

As a President, with a Congress to back him up.
Never happen, as he is too smart to want the job of President.

That is what gives us hope for a real change, and not just something kinder and gentler.

10. That's an excellent choice for 2024. I believe Hillary is perfect for 2014.

We'd have the Dem party locked in for 24 years straight ...and that's a good thing!

Don't get too confident, it all depends on what happens in the states in 2014.

We have to reclaim the House and hold the Senate and hold some feet to the fire.

26. Welcome to DU, DreWId!

Excellent point you make. We've really let the ball drop on the state level. And look what's happened. We HAVE to make it a priority to take back more statehouses - AND around the decade mark, so that WE influence the census, reapportionment, and the UN-gerrymandering of the drawing of the congressional districts, and NOT the bad guys. 'Cause look what's happened, everywhere that a republi-CON took the governorship and also the Secretary of State job. ALL they think about anymore is figuring out ways to cheat, because they realize that they can't win on their ideas, policies, agendas, or merits. They know the numbers aren't with them anymore, so they're trying to figure out how to have it both ways - leave their Neanderthal anti-social policies intact AND get more votes. And the only way to do that while you're swimming against the currents of the national morality, ethics, changing demographics and evolving worldview - is to figure out a foolproof way to cheat. Preferably under the radar so it's too late for us to do anything to stop it by the time we realize what's happening.

We need a LOT better vigilance. A LOT better and more skilled and more determined forward and rear guards. We need people who think deviously - so we can outflank and outmaneuver, and ANTICIPATE what the GOP nogoodniks are apt to do next. Seems like they're always getting the jump on us. THAT has to change if we're to blunt the threat they pose.

Thanks!
Don't forget ALEC has a huge hand in the States. A WI representative is introducing a bill to overturn Citizens United.

17. Normally I would agree

But Warren and Clinton are about the same age (mid-60s?), and I think in another 8 years (12 years from now) maybe neither would be interested in running. If I have to pick one, I'd prefer Warren.

8. yes, we built that!

We the 99% who supported him and donated to his campaign, built his victory. More importantly, Grayson knows that it's we the people, not the robber barons, to whom he owes his representation in Congress.

Don't you just love it when you can shove those "clever" RWNJ sayings right back in their faces?

I had mucho schadenfreude sticking the "How's the hopey changey thing working out for you?" right back in the eyes of RWNJs just after the re-election of the President.

Glad you're here! YES. I LOVE it. Shove it back down their throats, and back up their asses (from whence it inevitably came)!

You also named my next-most-beloved slogan - "how's that hopey changey thing working out for you?" WELL, GOP? How 'bout it?

You don't have to live in their districts to help their campaigns OR to call their offices to make your voice heard! VERY proud that I could support his candidacy, and I'll eagerly do it again. From him I get MORE than my money's worth!

13. Grayson Cannot Be Bought

And that fact drives the arm-twisting lobbyists who attempt to pressure him--and the powerful, shadowy lords of high finance, big-pharma and the military/industrial complex who buy and sell other Congressmen by the gross-dozen like so many face-painted, arm-clutching prostitutes--absolutely bat-guano.

I can picture one of these coddled titans of ______ slamming their fist down on some hyper-polished hardwood table in a hushed, dark-paneled boardroom: "GRAYSON! GRAYSON again?! Every man has his price. Get his! Pay it! Neutralize the bastard. Or what the %$#!@ am I paying you people for?"

I like Alan Grayson a lot, but I don't see how this number is relevant to anything. Maybe it's interesting as trivia, but that's about it.
