5. We'd all be better off if Graham

went back to looking for "companions" in public toilets. He only tells people he likes hanging out in public toilets for the aroma.

6. Benghazi is driving the Republicans and their "base" barking, foaming mad

Last edited Mon Feb 11, 2013, 12:00 PM - Edit history (1)

The death of 4 American diplomats was a tragedy and Congress has a proper role in investigating what happened and how such tragedies can be prevented in the future (i.e. not cutting spending for security at embassies/consulates) but some Republicans like Graham, McCain, et. al are acting as though 3000 American citizens died here on American soil and the President of the United States of America and his national security team had received an intelligence briefing nearly a month before indicating that something wicked was this way coming. I don't remember any members of the "Benghazi Brigade" attacking President George W. Bush and demanding the kind of accountability and scrutiny over 9/11/01 that they are demanding of President Obama over the events of 09/11/12. What's even more surprising (or depressing depending on your point of view) is that McCain, Graham, et. al have apparently been spending more time holding press conferences attacking would-be Presidential nominees for various critical agencies and grandstanding than actually attending briefings that have been held on what exactly happened in Benghazi, where they might, you know, get some of those "answers" that they keep demanding.

17. The State Department Was Focused On What Was Happening In Egypt

What happened in Benghazi was more like a car bombing. The 4 people died not directly from the attack but from the smoke when the building caught fire and there was no fire exit in the building. That's right, the building was a death trap.

But I suppose I'm not an expert.

How can anyone take his concerns about security seriously when he's holding up these nominations for defense and intelligence?

16. Remember Lindsey Graham and the great blow job that was White Water?

This is exactly what he is trying to do with this hissy fit over Benghazi.
The Head of the CIA, The Sec. of State, and lots of other people have
already testified in front of the committee he is on. Now he might not like
the answers he got but he really needs to shut up or come out and admit
he is on a fishing exhibition in order to try to hurt the President.

21. Graham's an asshole, but we're not going to be without a secretary of defense

Panetta has said he would stay on board until his successor is confirmed. Even if he got tired of waiting, the President would simply name an acting Secretary of Defense (as has been done in the past). Its not "treason" to block the confirmation of the president's first choice for Secretary of Defense (even though its something that should not be done lightly).
