1. Drones

Drones fly slowly and can be accurate in their mission. Manned planes move at hundreds of miles per hour and result in a lot of "friendly fire".

If we had drones first and someone suggested we put the pilots in the aircraft there would be an outcry at the high cost, danger to the pilot, and huge risk to innocents on the ground.
