2. OOooo thanks!

I'll have to record it if it's on again. Usually they replay it later on...

3. Just a kick.

This is an amazing program so far. Fifth Estate has always rocked though. One of my favorite shows.

8. Yep, proves the point

of the program - that the NRA is sticking their nose into Canadian's business.

Gun nut Canadians are about as common as those Canadians that want to switch to an American style health care system. I hear about them, and they all tend to post online and star in ads, but funny enough I NEVER seem to actually meet any in real life (and I'm in Alberta). I wonder why that is.....

9. I don't meet them in Saskatchewan, either.

When I ran the Post Office for a few years, it was my responsibility to hand out the forms and booklets introducing the long-gun registry. I think out of the hundreds I gave out ....... maybe half a dozen people were seriously against it. Many of the rest grumbled at having to fill out those damn forms, but they didn't seem to have a problem with the registry itself. The only time guns come up in conversation I hear, is when someone has had to shoot a coyote or a sick animal, or of a suicide.

17. If it is

Americans voting all you can say is so much for the tipping point. And as for the poll being "freeped" remember millions of gun owners are Liberals.

10. I live in northern Ontario

where there are people who live here who hunt and fish.

I took a hunting and firearm course when I first moved up. I got the highest marks, not bad for being from the city, female and the oldest and have never handled a gun before.

I was going to buy a hunting rifle but just bought a bb gun....Truthfully I just was not interested in shooting.

I moved from my very rural home and now live in a small northern town. My boyfriend has guns but has lost interest in hunting.

Living up north for 8 years and I never met anyone who had an semi automatic or said they wanted one.

I was out today and met up with some friends who also saw the C BC fifth estate program They mentioned that they watched it and found it astounding. They too live in a rural lakeside area and they have no guns.

11. I have SO many friends that live in rural areas

Very few even own your bare bones rifles. My grandparents did, but they lived in the boonies and had to feed their families (again, really really old rifles) and that was 50 years ago. The guns are still there - passed down to my uncle - who never uses them, despite tons of bears. My grandmother used to scare them off by banging pots.

heck, my parents have a lake lot and have cougars and deer and coyotes and all kinds of things track through.....they don't have any guns. My aunt and uncle live a few miles away from the lake lot on an acreage and my uncle is a hunter - he uses a bow. No guns. As I said in another post - it's such a foreign mindset to us Canadians. It really is. Despite our similarity in cultures, this is one area where everyone I know just thinks the US is nuts. And the more they know, the more they think it.

15. It's probably

cause some corp in the US bought the rights. Probably Fox or CNN and then the CBC can't show it in the US and whoever bought it never will show it. I agree, it's a shame.
