4. I don't think his weight is any of my business.

I'm happy to discuss his politics, but gastric bypass surgery? No thanks.

5. Chris Christie in High School

i always assumed Christie was overweight or at least chubby since he was a kid. but in high school he seemed normal weight. so i wonder when he started to gain all the weight.

21. And you know exactly what's going on, huh sparky?

Mind your own fucking business. Obesity is a complicated disease, and flip comments like yours are ignorant.

22. It's simple math

He obviously wasn't at all fat as a teenager. He is obviously taking in more calories than he is burning.

He should exercise more and slow down his caloric intake. Simple math.

"Mind your own business" Is it anymore your business than mine? This is a public forum

7. He can do what his personal feelings think he should do but, I do not know any old people his size.

Extremely overweight people do not live long. I know there are exceptions to ever rule and someone here may know of a very large elderly person but I know of no one like that.

12. Leave people's bodies alone

That you think you have any right to determine someone else's medical choices is outrageous.

13. I think he has to. He may be in denial about his health but his voters are not. The national press

will not be.

14. One of my sisters had it done, it really helped her a lot. She was enormous.

I would have to guess that my sister lost 200 pounds after having the surgery done. I'm mighty glad she did it, because she simply could not have lived long like she was. If the operation would help Governor Christie then I hope he has the good sense to have it done.

15. My brother had it. He's fat again.

After the 5 year or so mark from surgery, it's still a struggle for many.

19. My daughter had it done and lost 200 pounds.

That was 6 years ago. But she is starting to pack on the pounds again.

20. I have struggled with mine

but I couldn't see doing the operation when all signs were pointing to it being a 5 to 10 year solution for many.

I lost 80 pounds on my own and that got me close to my correct BMI but it took 2 years to do but I've held relatively steady. It's not an easy problem to solve once it gets out of hand.

23. I think he should hire Jillian for his trainer.

I have know a couple of women who got the bypass surgery and frankly it worked for awhile, but then they started to gain weight again. The only way is a life style change. Rev. Al Sharpton said it all yesterday. He went from 300 lbs. down to 145. He said he had to change the way he ate and exercised. It was hard but he knew it couldn't be easy. The problem with the bypass surgery is that you don't change your eating habits or make yourself do that hour of exercise a day to start burning fat.

24. I think Chris Christie's healthcare decisions are between him and his doctor.

So I won't speculate.
