Three stabbed, one fatally, in downtown Baltimore, police say (during Super Bowl parade)

Three people were stabbed, one fatally, in downtown Baltimore Tuesday afternoon, near the route of the parade celebrating the Ravens Super Bowl victory, police said.

Baltimore police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the stabbing occurred at about 1:40 p.m. near the intersection of North Howard and West Fayette Streets. He said one of the three victims, a juvenile, went into cardiac arrest and was rushed into surgery at a nearby hospital, where the youth died. The other two stabbing victims were expected to live, he said.

Large crowds had gathered downtown around the time of the stabbing for a parade starting at City Hall and ending at M&T Bank Stadium to celebrate the Baltimore Ravens' Super Bowl XLVII victory.

"It doesn't appear at this point that it's connected to the Ravens parade," Guglielmi said.

Umm...knife control? Good guy with a knife?

Meanwhile on Sunday night the loser's town San Francisco had a more peaceful scene after the loss, with just 25 arrests for public drunkenness and one arrest for attempting to start a fire.

7. Now if the Eagles won they would probably burn the city down...

Oh wait, the Eagles have never won a Super Bowl!!!

From what I have read there have been only a few arrests that could be attributed to the SB win, and those were for climbing telephone/light poles.

10. See 2008.

No one was killed at our World Series parade. Sorry, I know you love to hate us but nearly every city reacts worse than we do to these things. It's nice to have the rep though. Keep the weenies and scabs away.

9. Nah, we just need to teach the Americans how to throw themselves to the ground and thrash around ...

as if they have been disemboweled (you know, Like the European footballers). That should fix the problem.

16. I have it on good authority...

that every one of those player who drops like a pole-axed steer was grievously injured. They might not have survived if they weren't taken to the magic sponge on the side for miraculous healing that puts Lourdes to shame

12. That argument will fail ...

... because we all know, if the assailant had used a gun, we'd be hearing about a dozen victims, instead of three victims.

8. So because there are other ways to do harm to people we should turn our heads away from trying

to stop the one that is easiest for people to do?
