Is my butt better than Michelle Obama's butt

I just came across this article in the Washington Post about the derogatory comments on Michelle's butt.

I am 5'2" and when I was in my teens to 30s weighed in at around 110 lbs.
My waist was quite small but my butt was quite big. One of my co-workers who hailed from Jamaica told me one day that I reminded him of back home. Now I am white and of East European descent.

I felt flattered. My husband said my butt attracted him to me. I had a "natural porch swing" When I walked. One girl even picked a fight with me, unprovoked, because of it..

All through my life I have periodic positive comments on my butt. I don't mind.

I think Michelle Obama is one beautiful woman and her butt is ok as is the rest of her toned body.

I think those that diss her are the Walmart shoppers that we see on You Tube.. They are jealous.

here is the article... and a little trivia...In Canada we say bums....not butts. LOL.

But what is it with Michelle Obama’s critics and the fixation with her derriere?

“We have a history in this country of white people not showing adequate respect for and devaluing the bodies of black women, and this most definitely falls in line with that,” says Ayana Byrd, the co-editor of the anthology “Naked: Black Women Bare All About Their Skin, Hair, Hips, Lips and Other Parts.” (Grisham, Limbaugh and Sensenbrenner are white men.)

The focus on this first lady’s posterior has historical antecedents. It reaches back to the imagery of Hottentot Venus, a woman from what is now South Africa whose naked body and pronounced posterior were paraded in shows throughout 19th-century Europe. On to the selling and trading of black women’s bodies through slavery. In modern times, black women’s figures continue to be up for public discussion in ways that are celebratory (see: “Brick House” by The Commodores) and insulting (see above).

Michelle Obama — who is 5-foot-11 and praised for her fashion sense, her bangs and her toned biceps — regularly emerges in polls as one of the most popular public figures in the country. (The White House does not discuss her weight.) She has graced magazine covers from Vogue to Better Homes & Gardens. Women’s health magazines have created workouts to help other women get “Michelle Obama arms.”

1. Frankly, I believe that no comments about the First Lady's "assets"

should ever appear in the media. Such things are not fodder for media commentary, IMO. It all seems to be part of the coarsening of American media all around.

5. An excellent option, and one I've been following.

Sometimes the media just flat sucks.

17. Repukes certainly are coarse.

And crude, ignorant, bigoted, and stupid.

6. Similar comments have been made about Hillary, and who can forget Chelsea....

being called the "White House Dog"? People can be cruel, but I don't think it helps when we help by having a national discussion about all the ugliness we've become all too accustomed to, but that's just me.

Michelle Obama is a beautiful, accomplished woman who some people have an irrational hatred for, mostly because she's Barack Obama's wife.

8. Acyually, she helped me to be more inspired to do something about my own arms.

She is just a year older than me, and I was starting to get flabby around my arms .After years of heavy work, I was sidelined by a shoulder injury and things were going down hill fast. I needed inspiration to get myself into shape despite my physical issues, and I would look at her and think, she is a busy woman, if she can do it and look that good, so can I .

I imagine these ugly remarks are from people who probably think that women should not show any flesh in public or feel good about their body in any way.

12. It is natural that objects of beauty such as the human body/flowers/ paintings, etc

are admired. However, when physical beauty takes precedence over the other beautiful atributes such as intelligence, integrity, kindness etc. we cease to be whole.

11. LOL

On our 25th anniversary my hubby took a picture of me on top of Ontario place in my jeans and striped top
He had a poster made of it.

After he died I had it put on a plaque....The photo frame guy said he had to turn it over because every guy came in and kept looking at the picture. LOL.

It is nice to know that at 45 I still had my butt allure.

14. Hey sister, we could be sisters

same height, weight, same 'fat ass', and partly same ethnicity. Made me wonder if I wrote your post while sleepwalking

I used to hate it, was made to hate it really (my 'fat' ass that is) but finally realized it was a good thing as far as attracting a mate goes...

And as far as Michelle Obama goes, most of the people criticizing her looks are ugly, frumpy men. And like someone else said, they're desperate because that's all they got on her - shallow, vaguely racist, jabs at her good looks.

15. That is cool where you are from - butt sister. LOL

as far as the small waist and fat ass., pants were hard to fit but thank dog for petite clothes being invented. I realized that my butt can't be too bad when I looked through Frederick's catalogue and saw all those padded girdles for those buttless women. WE are blessed, eh?

my husband was a "ass" man...He was my soul mate.

I agree those people who criticize here are either jealous or racists. including my own brother.
