Don't worry, the police will protect you if someone breaks in, etc....

Miami-Dade Officers Caught On The Wrong Side Of The Law
A sergeant and 2 officers are off the job and 3 others suspended without pay for derelection of duty.

It's considered one of the worst incidents of delinquency in the department's history where the officers are accused of failing to respond to emergency calls, pretending to be on calls when they weren't and falsifying police records.

All of the accused make up the entire squad assigned to patrol a large part of Kendall from Bird Road to Southwest 104th Street. They were all caught on surveillance tape drinking coffee -running errands or making out with their girlfriends instead of doing their jobs.

In all ---the investigation finds 134 violations-- The most egregious involving an emergency call in which a 5-month old who was unconscious and in need of medical attention. No comment from the officers- who are fighting to get their jobs back.

2. If the 5-month old had died, the cops getting fired is about the worst that could happen to them.

Time and again, courts have found that police have no legal obligation to protect you and me, unless we're in custody, regardless of what slogan they paint on the side of their cars.
