Beyoncee's...I am amazed

That people are shocked, nay horrified, at the clothes! Oh my... I did not particularly watch the half time show, but went and found it on the interwebs. You are shocked by the direction entertainment has taken? Serious?

Oh but there was grinding...Elvis Presley started that in 1959...at the time the horror of white mc parents was truly code for the ...black music that was invading popular culture. And rock was the creature of the devil and the end of acceptable behavior.

I see this as a continuation...but the clothes!!! You kid me, right? We have seen this starting with some white artists, one in her sixties I believe, using costumes like this since the 1970s...(and she can still pull it off).

So...in my mind there is more to this than grinding and clothes or lack off...but hey, this is just my cultural explanation. As to the music, nice choreography...and nice use of light. Would I go out of my way? Nope. But being critical due to clothes and grinding...no, not really.

5. It was not my particular cup of tea

But I am not going to scream over clothes, o the rest of it.

Culturally what it was, this s important, taste aside...these were strong women on stage performing before a billion + audience, what was not an easy choreography. The message, women can do this.

3. No sex allowed!!

Guns and shootings and war and drones and WMD, now that is allowed.

When is are we gonna just forget about having sex? Much less on the sacred TV where nobody is everybody and is addicted to the boob-tube?

All we are saying is give wars a chance.

4. It's what I call "popaganda", entertainment passed off as news

because the MSMedia doesn't report much news anymore, news threatens the 1%er's sales pitch/propaganda because it exposes the corrupt disaster capitalists.

8. No, reporting entertainment gossip as news is propaganda

It's designed to create emotional responses rather than supplying the public with rational information regarding their own lives.

10. Forgive me, but perhaps you missed this little detail

1.- there is a whole program dedicated to entertainment news, that be E-News, in the age of papers we called it the social pages.

2.- People starting to share their outrage over the show, here on DU, as it was happening. It is called live blogging.

Amazingly I was doing the same from a hearing the other day. I guess that was ok, since it was a public forum

15. Oh I get it

See, I covered a forum on Friday...there is interest in the community...but compared to public entertainment public policy is boring and complex.

14. I liked it. Not as much as I would like the Eagles

but she was good. Much better than Fergie and crew, Much better than Madonna.

Best half-time show of the last few years was Paul McCartney

20. The Eagles?

If the Eagles made it to the Super Bowl, there would be no end to the Michael Vick dogfighting threads here.

17. Is it a problem that her music is not the genre that I enjoy listening to? I listened to it, but it

did not do anything for me. It kind of gave me a bit of a headache, but I just turned it down.

About all I listen to is classical music that is probably 200 years old.

18. It is a huge serious problem that you were not entertained

Millions of dollars were spent on this failed attempt to entertain you.

That was money which could have fed hungry children, or provide medication to people with diabetes.

But instead, an attempt was made to provide you with entertainment, and it failed miserably.

It's simply tragic.

19. Don't worry, my friend. The game itself provided the entertainment I was looking forward to!

See, we all have different tastes. My wife on the other hand hated the whole thing and damn near ruined it for me.

She hates football.

22. I think generationally you can see the entertainment industry moving back to "product"

mass produced and manufactured.

I think the Sandy relief concert highlighted the difference between the older musical generation of writer, producer and performers that highlighted the 60-70s. The super bowl highlighted the modern (although more in line with 20s to 60s music culture) music scene where the artist is more a product within a large production scene. It isn't clear if the show really needed their star. I think when the 60s stars finally pass away so to will a large amount of interesting multi-skilled talent. The newer talent doesn't feel as exciting. Although it is hard to deny it was all nicely produced. I think the real talent in modern music is almost all behind the scenes and in that case she is well situated with one of the most talented people in the industry.

The truth be told I could just do with a normal half-time and back to football. They half-time show is generally an irritating delay designed to hook in people that don't like sports. I am glad other sports don't glam it up pointlessly like the NFL. Isn't American Idol already out there for no sports watching people.

24. so what is your final analysis? They didn't like her because she was of "dark skin"

I thought she danced well and sang great. Just wasn't my type of music. I favor the classic rockers
