He pressured the Dominican Republic to give his buddy, an eye doctor with no experience in port security, a contract scanning freight in Dominican ports, to guard against drugs and terrorism.

I predict Menendez' career will be over soon and the Democratic Party will be better served without him.

he's an investor in it and may have been acting on behalf of other investors as well. Not all Democrats are welfare-sucking communists. The prostitution angle was probably in the original press release just to peak interest.

I look mostly at content and not who posts it. I figure more experienced hands than I have screened it. It's the only recent diary I could find that mentioned the Menendez situation having heard some discussion on CSPANWJ this AM.

My priority and opinions on such political matters is simple. Foremost and most important are honesty, personal integrity and the issues and Party second. Acceptability of corruption taints and paints the country and Party and hurt us all. Republicans have been proven to be liars and corrupt and that is one reason they lost.

I agree that there needs to be some proof in this. But when it comes to politicians where there is smoke there is typically fire. Cronyism and corruption by politicians threatens the country and honest government. It makes them susceptible to blackmail and favors at the countries expense. I will never accept political corruption based upon politics.
