Richard Cohen, who supported the war in Iraq, blasts John McCain and Chuck Hagel for supporting the war in Iraq. However, he also had this harsh appraisal of Sarah Palin:
It was McCain who chose Sarah Louise Palin out of all the people in the United States of America to be his running mate. With the possible exception of a Kardashian, there was no more unqualified person in the country to be a vice president and, as they say, a heartbeat away from the presidency. For this decision alone, McCain will remain forever on the wrong side of history. Even Fox News has given up on Palin. It appears the woman had absolutely nothing to say.
I don't think that point can be made enough.

I think those that think McCain choose Palin are giving him way too much credit.

(55,981 posts)1. I think those that think McCain choose Palin are giving him way too much credit.
Why would the oligarchs that have so much money invested in the Republican Party let a nitwit like McCain choose his running mate?

I think Chris is the only one old enough though. But, she wouldn't be a horrible choice.

A second rate fluff piece reporter on a two bit, backwater TV station in Podunk Alaska.
May her dreams ever come true.

How's that for a headline?
I'm getting tired of hearing about that half-term quitter from Alaska, so much so that I've boycotted that person's name. I refuse to give that person one single solitary additional hit on google.

would be fascinating to learn. Maybe someone will write the book someday.
