So it appears Scott Brown is running for Gov. and NOT running for the senate seat.

It appears he is figuring he has one shot and that Gov. is easier as there have been many Repub. Gov's recently as Deval is not running.

So it appears unless whomever wins the 2 year primary race, they will have to really do a Coaxley to blow it.

Whewww for now.

However, in 2014, now democratic party has to do a regular election and a gov. race in a non-presidential year.

Scott Brown will not run for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by John Kerry, a source close to the senator tells the Herald.
DEVELOPING...

(assuming this is true of course.)

2. The woe noes continue.

Brown lucked out in 2010 and rode in on the Great Teabag Tsunami. His real campaign abilities were amply demonstrated as weak by E. Warren.

Brown is not the Great Republican Bogeyman.

5. I'm sorry but I disagree.

It's foolish to think that in an off year or special election that Brown wouldn't have won against Elizabeth. She rode the extra Obama voters to victory. He would have won if he ran.

13. Um, uh, she kicked his ass and exposed him as a nasty uninformed oaf.

You must have watched some other campaign. In case you didn't notice, 2010 was a general Democratic Party disaster across the country. Brown lucked out, double lucked out as Coakley sat out the campaign. The Fear of Brown here is silly.

14. Keep your head in the sand.

Brown was outpolling all comers by a substantial amount, has an over 50% approval rating despite his having been made to look like an oaf and has a massive war chest.

Democrats do not come out for midterms and special elections like they do for Presidentials, they just don't. Republicans come out the same in every election. What happened in 2006 was an aberration, people just hated Bush that much.

If the President does not convince all those extra minority and younger voters that voting Democratic in the midterms is the same as voting for him one last time, we're going to get our asses kicked just like we did in 2010.

Obama won the state of Massachusetts by 23 points. Warren beat Brown by 7. In a year that Obama is not on the ticket. Brown wins.

Fortunately, this is all moot now.

16. For that seat anyway.

Hopefully is done for good. It's hard to trust people that elected both he and Mittens though.

3. from what I read earlier

Brown seemed to figure he could win now, but couldn't then take the time to run and serve
in 2013 and 2014 for either the full 6 year term in 2014, or governor, therefore it would be a dead end job just for two years.

Remember he seemed to not be able to do both when he lost in Nov.

imho

However, vigilance is required for the Gov. race and the full senate race in 2014.

Because whomever wins the primary will have to run again shortly.

6. Brown will not be Governor.

You can bank on it.

My adopted home state is only growing more liberal by the day.

10. The sun is setting for Republicans and their Third Way companions

Our party will either be renewed through a takeover by FDR Democrats, or it will be replaced by a party that fights for the 99%.

11. President Obama is doing what Rush Limbaugh claims. He is sending them to Whigsville.

on Presidential elections because of him and his fans.

I only see Brown doing this as a strategic ploy.
He really had nothing to win or lose by running now as he would have to run again.
So he doesn't lose.

The democratic party wins now, but it shouldn't be Markey or Walsh in 2014.
That position, like the interim, should really be filled by someone else

and let Markey just do the job.

President Obama Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton is the 99%.
