Now a Christian friend I have known for 40 years... I posted the following on Facebook today.
If you are a plumber and your neighbors drains leak. Don't PRAY that it gets fixed.. go fix it yourself. God wants your action more than he wants your prayers.
His reply was... I pray before I do most things.
I said...... Do you pray to see if God wants you to dive in to a lake to save a person drowning..
He said... If I feel God want me to seek his will.
I said .... I hope I am not swimming if you are in my proximity
He then deleted me as a FB friend.....
OH WELL.

(10,820 posts)Then tell him that you are very confused and need his help. Tell him that you also prayed to God about responding to his response about the plumbing example. Let him know that God told you to offer to him the "I hope your not around when I am swimming" thing. Tell him that either he is praying to the wrong God or God is fucking with both of you,
Cheers!

Act as if everything depends on you!
Or you can say a prayer while you act.

(3,041 posts)Once I wrote down a list of resentments against God and filled up a whole page in no time flat. Then I tried to write a list of resentments against Satan and came up with only three things: 1. Whatever 2. Doesn't exist 3. If he does he's a real bastard.
For something that some here claim they don't believe in, they expend a whole lot of time and negative energy beating up on God and those who believe in Him.

Oh well, maybe God just likes to see people argue.

(10,252 posts)tell him to not be mad at you and to refriend you on FB, also that you didn't mean to offend him if he took your comment that way. You're sorry that wasn't your intention. If he's a real Christian he'll forgive and refriend.
If he doesn't refriend you, then he wasn't much of a friend or a Christian and good riddance. And don't go back begging for him to be your friend.
If you don't want his friendship to start with, disregard all of the above and consider yourself lucky to have discovered this about him.
