1. I read that Applebee's and that Oil restaurant chain are the two unhealthiest restaurants

to eat at. So I don't.

7. Appleby's is maybe the worst of what I call the "stripey awning" joints.

Chili's, Friday's (formerly) Bennigan's. That whole cheery bar 'n grill / bric-a-brac-on-the-wall, flair pins on the vest schtick.

Their secret ingredient is basically buckets of sugar, salt, and fat. Appleby's though, somehow can't even make that shite taste good.

10. Actually? Restaurants should pay servers a living wage

I find it really kind of interesting that the whole culture of tipping is so ingrained that most people don't even question it, they just get really righteously offended at people who don't do it. Instead of looking at employers who won't pay a living wage and at the fact that Federal wage laws allow for it (and that the minimum for tipped employees hasn't increased in 20 years).

12. I'll pay a bill with plastic, but my tips are always in cash

I like the idea that the server gets the tip, not the Owner. And I can assure you that Owners have been known to take tips that go straight into the register - it happens all the time, ask anyone who has worked in a couple of different eateries.

13. Cash tip it is!

Before my wife and I go out I see how much cash we have for a tip, figuring on a meal bill that is high. A tip is for the server and it is NO business of the restaurant owner or manager.

14. Totally with you

I always tip in cash - you never know how long it may take restaurant management to hand out that hard-earned moolah. Plus, it personalizes things, plus lowers your monthly CC bill.
