useful information if you have gum disease/gingivitis and dr. quack wants to yank your teeth....

periodontal disease may respond to antibiotics when the dental industry would rather pull your teeth and replace them with dentures because dentures make more profits than antibiotic treatments

1. Most dentists I've known look in your mouth and see nothing but $$$.

The most important relationship you have in your dentist's office, is between you and your hygienist. Find a good one that listens to you and goes the extra mile, stay with them.

2. Interesting

Wish my Dad had been given that option. I'm going to check with my hygienist at the next check-up and see if she is aware.

6. I went though hell with periodontal disease for years.

I had three operations on my gums. I had 4 bottom teeth pulled because they were too loose to save and had a fixed bridge. Then I had gum problems with my top teeth. Those were filed down and I had a fixed bridge on all of my top teeth. All this work was done when I was in my 40s and 50s. I am now 74 and the bridges came out, but thank heavens for false teeth adhesive, I am keeping them in. But very soon, I am going to have to have what teeth are left extracted and get dentures. I am putting it off, but I am finding it very difficult to eat, so it is going to real soon. I did everything and spent thousands of dollars to keep my teeth in my mouth, but I have lost the fight. None of my dentists were quacks and did what they could to save my teeth.

7. had my whole mouth laser treated for periodontis last year

worked great--no surgery--brand new mouth including teeth but no disease. LANAP is what you look up online. Since I had the procedures and paid cash, my dental insurance started covering it. Great timing, Delta (not) Still was worth it.

8. Dentists could make great progress in repairing their profession's reputation if they

would expose and support the expulsion of the Dr. Quacks. Every dental problem in the Thug family today is the direct result of dentists "drilling for dollars" when we were kids.
