Your favorite magazines and newspapers

I am looking for a few magazines and newspapers to subscribe to as part of my morning reading. What are your favorites, and why?

1. I subscribe to two magazines digitally

PC Gamer and Maximum PC. I like to keep up to date on computer games and technology. If I had to pick one, Maximum PC is much better and more informative than PC gamer.

I also subscribe to a politics and news magazine "The Week" and am going to drop it as it is not very good.

4. Vanity Fair and New York Review of Books.

Vanity Fair for its entertaining combo of Hollywood-worship, scandals of the super-rich, and excellent reporting. NYR for its intelligent examination of books, politics, art, history and current events.

10. The Nation.

http://www.thenation.com/

America's oldest continuously-published weekly. It's independent and fearless. They have great columnists like Katha Pollitt, and their feature articles often provide ground-breaking news which later gets picked up by the rest of the press. For some examples of their amazing reporting, see:

Try their yearly cruise. It's excellent.
